practis architecture + design

Founded in the early 90s as a sole proprietorship, practis has evolved into a collaborative design firm focused on making places with purpose. Located in New Orleans, the 100% woman-owned firm has worked on projects ranging in scale from art installation designs (Dave Chihuly at Arthur Roger Gallery) to multi-block mixed-use developments. Included in the firm’s expertise are a number of successful renovations that breathed new life into existing buildings and installations throughout the city.

Rather than specialize, we generalize and optimize–using our creativity and inquisitiveness to develop schemes and solutions that address our client’s needs and goals with careful consideration and sensitivity to context. practis has been recognized with numerous design awards, including an AIA National award for PJ’s Coffee Shop on Tulane’s Uptown campus, as well as city, state, and regional awards for both new construction, historic renovation, and urban planning.
