Del Fuego, a family owned Uptown neighborhood spot is now hosting their annual Dia de los Muertos ofrenda and taking pre-orders for November 1st family meal to go.
Del Fuego family, friends & neighbors have come together to create an art installation featuring over 2,200 monarch butterflies representing the 220,000 people and counting who have passed away from Covid 19 in the U.S. this year. Each monarch represents 100 souls, all of which come back to visit on Day of the Dead. Please bring any photos / offerings for loved ones who’ve passed.
Day of the Dead Pre-Order Family Meals are available for pick-up only on November 1 from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. The restaurant will be closed for regular service on this day, but cocktails will be available while you visit the altar. Orders must be placed no later than Saturday, October 31 by clicking here or calling 504.309.5797. The generous meal includes traditional Day of the Dead holiday fare including Pozole Rojo, Mamita's Beef Hot Tamales, Roasted Chicken and Mole Negro, Homemade Tortillas, accompaniments, and Lisa B's Pumpkin Custard Empanadas. The altar will be open Tuesday (October 27) through Saturday (October 31) by reservation during regular restaurant service and Sunday (November 1) 11:30a.m.-2p.m. for family meal pickup.
Guests are asked to wear masks and observe six feet of social distancing.
